Solid value, minor issue

I used my membership to book a long haul holiday to Thailand. The booking process was straightforward enough, I found a flight and hotel package that really suited my budget. The trade price for the hotel was significantly lower than what I could find elsewhere, which was the main draw. Delivery of the e-tickets was prompt. Customer service was generally helpful when I called to clarify something about the travel insurance, though I was on hold for about 10 minutes. Everything else was perfectly fine. The website is easy to navigate and the selection of destinations is quite broad. I'd definitely use them again for the savings.

Membership always worth it

Another great holiday with UTC. I booked a family package to Spain this time, same as last year. The process was smooth as always. Prices were really good, about what I expected based on past bookings. It's why I keep renewing my annual membership; consistency is key for me.

Good savings on hotels

I tried UTC travel for the first time for a weekend city break in Rome. I got a decent discount on the annual membership which felt like good value. The hotel price was much better than what I saw on other sites like Booking.com. It was a good saving on the overall trip, made the membership worth it for sure.

Decent deals, good support

Booked a ski holiday through UTC for the first time. The prices were competitive, especially for the hotel part. It was easy enough to find what I needed on the site. I had a question about adding ski equipment insurance, and customer service got back to me within a day, which was good. The only thing I noticed was that some of the flight options weren't as varied as on Expedia, but I still found a suitable one. Overall, a positive experience, and I'd consider using them again for future trips.

Hey, wondering if anyone in the US has used UTC Travel? How are the prices compared to like, Expedia or Booking.com for hotels? Just wanna know if the membership is actually worth it for savings.

Yeah, I'm in California and used it for a trip to Miami. It was definitely cheaper than what I found on Booking.com for the same hotel. Not always a HUGE difference, but enough to make the membership worth it if you travel a few times a year.

I've found it depends on the hotel and destination. For some places, it's a solid 20-30% cheaper. Others, maybe just 10%. But it adds up, especially on longer stays or more expensive hotels. They also have some places I haven't seen on other sites.

Can you just book flights through them, or is it mostly for hotel packages? I usually book my flights separately.

R Raj 1 month ago
You can book flights only, yeah. I've done it a couple of times. Sometimes the deals are really good, sometimes not so much, just like any other site. But it's an option.

I mainly use it for hotels and packages, but I've seen flight-only options too. Worth checking if you find a good hotel deal and want to see if they can match a flight price you found elsewhere.

Hey, if I get a referral code from a friend, where do I even put it when signing up? Is it for the membership fee or when you book a trip?

J Julia 1 month ago
The codes are usually for the membership sign-up, not for individual bookings. The bookings themselves are already at the 'trade price'. So you'd enter it when you choose your membership plan.

It's for the membership, like getting a discount on your first year or something. You'll see a spot for it during the registration process for your account.

Does UTC Travel offer any kind of free trial? I'm curious but don't want to commit to a whole year right away.

J Jared 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I did a 30-day free trial before I signed up for the annual thing. It was pretty easy to cancel if you don't want to keep it.

They usually do a free trial, just look for it on their site. I think it's 30 days. Gives you enough time to check out some prices for your next trip.

Is UTC Travel legit? Never heard of them before but the deals look almost too good to be true.

N Noor 1 month ago
I was skeptical too but I've booked a few trips with them over the last year and everything's been fine. My hotel bookings were confirmed directly with the hotels. They're based in the UK, I think, but operate internationally.

Yeah, they're legit. I mean, they're basically selling at trade prices so it's like getting industry discounts. It's not a scam, just a different business model than regular booking sites.
